Born in southern Alaska, Hannah Bartos moved to Yankton with her family when she was very young. Barely remembering living in Alaska, the only place she has ever called home, was Yankton. Growing up here, she became familiar with the town and with the people.
 She says that the best thing about living in Yankton is being a member of a tight-knit community.
"You don't have to go very far to do anything that you want, and everyone here is just so close to each other."
The one thing that sets Yankton apart for her from any other town around here is the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Complex. If she isn't in school or at home, you will likely find her practicing shooting and socializing with her friends at the Archery Center.
 Her interest in shooting archery began six years ago when she was only nine years old. From there, she kept practicing and advancing her skill, leading her to go on to many tournaments; including ten national and one international tournament that was held in France.
She says, "My passion for archery really took off last year when I was at a tournament in Texas. That is when I really began to think of archery as more than just a hobby."
Bartos says this is when she learned that the most important lesson about archery; that it takes a lot of patience.
She also says, "In archery, there's really no messing up. No one really cares if you mess up. There's not going to be anyone there criticizing your shooting."
Bartos, who is a sophomore at Gayville-Volin High School, says that once she graduates, she would like to major in either business management or financial management. With no particular college in mind, she says the one thing that she wants to continue doing, is shoot archery; so living close to Yankton is a priority to her.
Even though Yankton is a small enough town where neighbors know their neighbors, it can still offer enough opportunities to have connections with people from across the country and even across the world.
