What is Big Friend - Little Friend, Inc.?

A nonprofit designed to give a young person (Little Friend) the opportunity to gain the friendship and example of a positive and sincere adult (Big Friend). Big Friend - Little Friend, Inc. matches an adult volunteer with a young person in our community. The one-to-one relationship that develops between the Big Friend volunteer and the Little Friend both enriches the life of the young person and supplements the family structure. The purpose of this program is not to reduce the family, but rather to offer a special strength to it. This takes place through providing the Little Friend with a positive role model outside of the family atmosphere. ​​​​Our belief is that both young people and our community benefit from a program that intercedes with youth growing up in an environment that could benefit from additional adult friendship and guidance. Big Friend - Little Friend, Inc. is not an income based program. We encourage youth from all socio-economic backgrounds to become a Little Friend. ​​​​

Ways to be involved with Big Friend - Little Friend:

If you're an adult over the age of 18, consider donating an hour of your time each week to meet with a little friend. You can share adventures, cook together, hike, bike, or simply hang out.

If you have a child that would benefit from additional positive adult role models, consider signing her or him up for mentoring. Your child will benefit from further encouragement to grow and develop as an individual.

Tutoring services are also available for children.
